Esprit de france

In collaboration with the group FACTORY, this project involved renovating a 4* Hotel and upgrading its design to make it more current. In a post-pandemic world, hotels as well as other businesses have suffered greatly and are now headed towards a more adaptable use of space. As such, one of the main challenges from the hotel owner was to ensure that each room served a double purpose: to operate both as a hotel room and bookable conference room or study during the daily work hours. Each room took cues off three main typologies: The study as a room for introspection, the Tea Parlour as a space for small gatherings and the Library to serve a more collaborative environment. The decision was then taken that each of these typologies was to have a highly designed pivotable or foldable murphy bed for the space to perform both as workspace and hotel room.
